Project. Lusine Zakaryan House-Museum
Date. 2018 - 2019
City. Yerevan, Armenia
The Lusine Zakaryan House-Museum opened in June 2019 to educate the public about one of Armenia’s most revered cultural figures. Lusine Zakaryan (1937–1992) performed internationally and served as the soprano soloist of the Cathedral of Holy Etchmiadzin, earning the titles of Honorary Artist and People’s Artist of the Armenian SSR.
Half of the museum is preserved in its original condition, maintaining the domestic atmosphere of the home she shared with her husband, linguist, and professor of Medieval Musicology, Khoren Balyan. We transformed the second room into an exhibition space featuring a biographical timeline, selected artworks, and two of her performance dresses on display.
